Spall Liners are an internal ballistic liner used in U.S. military vehicles. Sioux Manufacturing Corporation (SMC) entered the spall liner business in 1986 after becoming vertically integrated, and since then, has equipped upwards of 10,000 U.S. military vehicles with Kevlar® and S-2 Glass® spall liner protection.

The majority of the material used in the spall liners is first woven and prepregged in SMC's weaving division. The material is then molded into panels, cut into parts, drilled, hardware attached, and parts painted according to our customer's specifications. By using compression molding, autoclave molding, and oven/vacuum molding to build both flat-panel and contoured-shaped spall liners, SMC has the versatility necessary to meet customer's requirements and remain a competitive force in the industry.
